Hey Goal Crushers and Dream Chasers,

We talked about happiness last time, a fleeting feeling that comes and goes.

Today I want to talk about the big picture and leverage.

When I say the big picture, I mean zooming out and looking at your life.

Do the choices you make today give you leverage toward your dreams?

My Personal Vision

You know the story of my journey towards entrepreneurship.

I was a young lad wearing a suit once a week to school with high hopes.

I got distracted by the comforts of life and wound-up way off the path.

Forward 12 years and I was still not using leverage to achieve my dreams.

That changed when I realized the big picture.

The Big Picture

Your SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time Bound) goals are a visionary ideal of what this big picture looks like.

Your habits are the strokes and motions you make to form this picture.

Your time bound to achieve these goals to keep consistency on the path.

Your relationships support and nurture you as you grasp your dreams.

Time and dedication are the bread and butter of life achievements.

The Anti Picture

We can also use leverage to keep our SMART goals in order.

What if we don’t stick to the habits needed, what happens to our dream?

If we don’t reach our goals in time, are there any drawbacks or consequences?

Do our relationships suffer if we fail to achieve what we set out to do?

This negative idea of a future can stoke the fire inside us to not fail.

Leverage

Both of these pictures will give you leverage when applied correctly.

Leverage works when you visualize the consequences of your decisions.

With this knowledge in hand, do you want to create your future, or let someone create it for you?

If you are not building the life you want, you are building someone else’s.

I only hope they have you in mind when they finish the final draft.
